Richard joins KAUST from the University of South Florida (USF), a research-intensive University. He is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU), where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Financial Strategy and Administrative Services and Chief Financial Officer.  

During his tenure at USF, Richard led the university to the best year-end financial results through new revenue sources, investment returns and better expense management. He also spearheaded the transformation of the budgeting processes at USF, developing and implementing a transparent and inclusive budget model and process. In addition, Richard oversaw the growth of the necessary investments to improve student and faculty success, contributing to USF’s accepted membership into AAU.

Richard brings with him a wealth of experience in financial management, strategic planning and leadership. His proven track record of success and dedication to excellence make him an outstanding addition to our leadership team. Richard’s expertise will be instrumental in guiding KAUST’s financial strategies and ensuring our continued sustainability and success.
