The upcoming Winter Enrichment program (January 11 – 22) is a great time for art lovers, with exciting local and international exhibitions coming to our community. Don't miss the following events:

Modern Saudi Art Exhibit

Take a fresh look at contemporary local art with our five-day Modern Saudi Art Exhibit (January 11 – 15, building 20 Auditorium lobby). This exhibit is curated by Arabian Wings, an independent Saudi arts company and will be accompanied by an opening night talk from Arabian Wings representative Mohammed Bahrawi.

Al-Balad 24 Photography Exhibition

Photography buffs will love the Al-Balad 24 Photography Exhibition (January 11 – 16, building 16 lobby). Photographers Marina Kochetyga and Andrea Bachofen traveled to Al-Balad and walked the same route, taking photos of the fascinating historic architecture. This exhibit also features a short video by Dr. Lorenzo Pareschi from the University of Ferrara (Italy) documenting a large fire that affected a portion of a neighborhood of Al-Balad.

East African Tingatinga

Enter the colorful world of Tingatinga: East Africa's exciting, exotic painting style (January 18 – 24, University Library). This exhibition will showcase the latest work by Mshana, Juma, Rashid and Kipara Mzuguno, the four painter sons of the late Tanzanian master Tingatinga painter David Mzuguno. Enter a magic world of blue elephants and green giraffes roaming through traditional African villages hidden in tropical jungles as man and beast live in harmony with nature.
