Thuwal students experience science at KAUST
KAUST recently hosted a group of 19 female students and teachers from the Thuwal intermediate school as part of its Young Learners Development Program (YLDP), administered by the Social Responsibility department.
The aim of the day was to keep our young neighbors engaged with KAUST and inspire them to explore future careers in science. The group had the opportunity to see KAUST in action, from faculty presentations to lab tours.
The highlight was a trip to the Water Desalination and Reuse Center (WDRC) to conduct hands-on experiments and learn more about the important work that the center is doing for the country. Students studied water samples and observed changes in pH levels and water quality as a result of their experiments.

This was the first of many upcoming visits to KAUST for Thuwal's YLDP students. They met with KAUST researchers and had the chance to experience a day in the life of real scientists by conducting experiments in real laboratory settings.
Social Responsibility would like to thank everyone involved in making the visit a success. Special thanks to the WDRC, as well as the community volunteers who accompanied the group and dedicated themselves to ongoing activities in Thuwal.
