Transportation services at KAUST include a wide range of bus services, both on and
around the community, and scheduled daily coach trips to various commercial centers, malls
and markets in Jeddah.
Campus bus services
Frequent on campus color-coded buses are available free of charge for use by all
community members. Bus stops are placed within 250 meters walking distance of any
facility and there are numerous bus stops throughout the residential areas. All buses
pass the major locations, including KAUST Health, Tamimi Supermarket, the Recreation
Centers, the University’s Administration Building, the Student Center and the IT
Building. Dedicated School and Daycare buses, with pre-defined routes, are also
available throughout the year.
There are daily bus trips to various destinations in Jeddah, and weekly/monthly trips
to Makkah and Medina. These bus trips are free of charge to residents.
Personal taxi and car rental
Taxi services are available 24/7 for
destinations anywhere within the campus and for destinations off-campus, such as airport
trips (pick-ups and drop-offs).
Cars, drivers, buses and golf carts are available to rent for special trips, subject
to availability.
Travel Office
A dedicated KAUST Travel Office, provided by Kanoo Travel
(located in Harbor Walk) is available for business and personal travel requirements. The
Travel office offers full vacation packages to various holiday destinations and assists
with airline, hotel and holiday and car rental bookings.
The Corporate Travel office is available 24/7 for airline booking, ticketing, hotel
booking and out of Kingdom car rental arrangements.
Mail and Courier
The KAUST Mail Room is operated by UPS and DHL and provides an international postal
service and express courier service, Saudi Post mail services and mailbox
management. The service covers business and personal documents, letters and
packages.
KAUST staff, faculty and students can apply for a mailbox, which is
accessible 24/7 at the Mail Room located at the KAUST Discovery Town Center. Pick-up and
distribution for inter-office mail can be requested through the mail and courier helpdesk by
phone or e-mail.
