GenAI Applications for Energy and Industrial Leadership

In this application research area, the Center area aims to develop and build foundation models, specifically targeting the intricacies of material discovery in the energy sector. It will leverage the world-class chemistry infrastructure at KAUST, namely KAUST's robotic chemistry lab, and endow it with the capabilities of an AI chemist (pretrained on large-scale chemistry data and simulation) trained to optimize chemical processes and discover new materials with favorable properties. The lead of this theme is Professor Magnus Rueping.
